Well, it has been a while. Our last week has been pretty full.
Cole has added quite a few words in the last week.
Sorry
Milk
Thank you
Ball
saying some of the words he had already said a couple of times much better.
On Monday, the Robertson's left on vacation to Disney World, which would not really affect us except that Jackson seems a little lost at home in the evenings without his best friend, Ireland. He found lots of other friends in the neighborhood to play with, and had a lot of fun. Monday was also Jackson's first soccer practice. Since TJ had an appointment, and I had to work until 5:30, and practice was at 4:30, so Nana got to take him to his first practice. Same situation this week, so Grandma is taking him to practice tomorrow.
Wednesday, TJ and I got out our 10-gallon fish tank and went to the pet store and got Jackson some fish. Their names are Optimus Prime (a Bala Shark), Megatron (Iridescent Shark), Tiger and Cougar (Tiger Barbs), and Bumblebee, Jackson and Ireland (Headlight and Taillight Tetras). He is super excited about them and loves checking on them and feeding them. Cole thinks they are great, too!
Thursday, I went to Kirksville to spend the day with Amanda, Benson, and Brynley. It was wonderful. We hung out at the house in the morning (Matt was there some), went to Jimmy John's for lunch, then took a nice walk at a trail in town. Back to Amanda's house. On the way back, we asked Benson where his Daddy worked. He pondered this for a moment, and then responded, with childlike candor, "On the Couch.", Amanda and I could not help laughing. She put Benson down for a nap, I made dinner for them, and then we sat down and watched an episode of 90210 while she nursed Brynley. Then, it was about time for me to head home. Too short of a trip. I got to stop in Brookfield and eat dinner with Aunt Pam and Uncle Jeff on the way home. I had not seen them since Easter, so that was really nice.
Friday, Nana and Papa went to Grandparents Day Lunch at school with Jackson. Apparently, the food was horrendous(not surprising). They said it was really fun, otherwise. Jackson really liked that they got to come.
Saturday, I had to work, but Jackson had his first soccer game. Dad handled both boys all by himself. SUPERDAD!
After I got off work, we all went down to the Hi-HO for dinner, and TJ stayed to watch the rest of the Missouri game. The boys and me came home, played, and then they went to bed.
This morning when Jackson came downstairs he asked me, "Mom, can I have the day off today?" -Of course, since today is Sunday, I told him that would be fine. Too funny, you would think he had been worked every day for months.
They know me in a way no one ever has,
They open me to things I never knew existed,
The drive me to insanity and push me to my depths,
They are the best of my heart, the pulse of my veins,
and the energy in my soul.
They are my kids!
They are the best of my heart, the pulse
