As I post this, Jackson is laying on the couch in the living room just wiped out from a weekend of trips to the pool, a barbecue at our house (for about 40 people), and the dreaded garage sale.
I finally did it. I hosted my very own garage sale. My first one ever. I had taken stuff to Connie's garage sales before, but had never had one of my own. It turned out pretty good, and I would do it again, though I doubt I will ever have that much stuff I need to get rid of again. I have to say, my storage room and spare bedroom closet look much better. My mom came to help out both days, and of course Daddy was very helpful.
On Thursday night, we hosted a BBQ for the hospital pharmacy. It turned out great. Nana and Papa came over to help out with the boys and the cooking. We had a great turnout and everyone had a good time playing in the sand(the kids) and volleyball in the yard (the adults).
Friday, Jackson, Cole, and I went to the pool after the garage sale. Saturday, TJ and I went to Mound City for Aunt Thelma Bahl's funeral while Grandma kept the boys. It was a very nice celebration of life.
Then, Jackson and I went back to the pool. We had a lazy evening at home after meeting Nana and Papa for dinner at Whiskey Creek.
Today, Father's Day, the boys and I made it to the pool once again, while Dad golfed with Papa.
Cole is about to get his fifth tooth.
He has added "up" and "yeah" to his word list. That gets us up to four words now.
He can make a sound like a fire truck and if I hand him his food and tell him it is hot, he blows on it.
He refuses to kiss Daddy, and will only give him head butts. I tell TJ he asked for it.
Jackson finished summer school on Thursday, and starts Vacation Bible School at St. Paul on Monday.
Just yesterday, we were looking for a parking spot and Jackson said "Mom, you can't park there. It's Candycapped". Of course, I corrected him, but candycapped does have a certain ring to it.
The boys are growing so fast and playing well together-sometimes. Cole likes to be doing whatever Jax is doing-even if that means sitting in time-out.
"Oh that you were like a brother to me who nursed at my mother's breasts! If I found you outside, I would kiss you, and none would despise me."
