Last week, Jackson had his 5-year well-check with Dr. Veligati. He had to get 4 shots. It broke my heart to see him in pain like that-he cried for a minute or so, but apparently a sucker can cure anything. After that, he went to Vacation Bible School at St. Paul. He is enjoying it, although I am confident he would rather be at the pool. Swim lessons are the first two weeks of July, and I am sure he will do well.
Jackson has been making friends in the neighborhood. There are two girls across the street, 2 girls and a boy just to their left, a boy and a girl next door, and 2 boys and a girl one house down in the other direction. When the Ababneh's are home, he really enjoys playing with them, and he loves to play with Clay Teschner from next door. His newest friend is Ireland Robertson. She has come over a few times now, and they play so well together. She is an absolute doll. TJ and I both think she is just hilarious.
I hope these friendships he is forming now can be those kind of friendships that last a lifetime.
It takes a long time to grow an old friend. ~John Leonard
