the Little Things

Once again, it has been much too long since my previous blog.
A lot has happened in the interim.  Not anything big or exciting, but a lot of day-to-day things.  You know, the little things...
Cole has some new words.  Owee(when he falls down), cheese, Clock, and amen.  He loves to spin or run in circles until he is dizzy and then fall down.  It is very funny to watch.  He also likes to do anything that Jackson does, GOOD or BAD!  This evening, Jackson was tryong to kick something out of my hand, and got scolded.  Sure enough, here comes Cole, doing the same thing.  He still can hardly stand to be inside for long periods of time.  He also has a lot more teeth, 4 total on top now, and 6 total on bottom.  Those last four coming through were pretty rough.

Jackson is having a good Fall season, loving soccer-scored 5 goals in 1 game, and 3 in another. YEAH!

Last week, TJ and I went to Los Cabos, Mexico with Reserve National.  It was wonderful, but of course, we missed the boys like crazy!  Jeana and Ryan came here to stay with Jackson so he did not have to alter his routine, getting on and off the bus each day.  Cole went out and stayed at Grandma and Grandpa Harper's house.  Jackson joined him out there on Friday after school.  They had a lot of fun.

In Cabo, we mostly laid by the pool or played in the ocean.  The waves were crazy big, and people were constantly getting knocked off their feet in the surf.  We did a little body surfing-not the most comfortable sport(I had sandburn on my butt!).  LOTS of sand in your suit.  On Saturday, I went with the Schuster family on a sailing day trip.  It was fantastic.  The captain was great, and I even got to learn a little about sailing and sail the boat for a few minutes. Wow!
Then home on Sunday, Grandma kept the boys awake a little late so we could see them when we got here.

We are gearing up for a gender reveal party for Ryan and Jeana and Baby Harper.  They will find out what they are having the first week of November, so we will be having a get-together for them that Saturday at our house.  I am excited to know what it is going to be.

This weekend, Jeana and I are going to the Missouri Homecoming Football Game.  100th Anniversary of Homecoming at Mizzou!  TJ is staying home with the boys, and going to the game the following weekend (Kenz turns 21, so they will be partying hard!). I will be home with the boys that weekend.

It was so good to come home to my sweet little boys Sunday evening.  Getting to read their bedtime books and kiss them goodnight made an entire days worth of traveling completely worthwhile.  I can not think of a single thing I would rather see first thing in the morning than the sleepy smiles on those boys faces.  And they are the last thing I think of when I go to bed at night.  My little miracles!

for one day you may look back
and realize they were the big things.”
