What's in a name?

I was thinking today about the names that we chose for the two of you. I am sure you have heard a hundred times, but I will tell you again.
Jackson is named after my grandfather John "Jack" Wesley Harper. And after TJ's dad, Dennis Orien Patterson and his great-grandfather, Orien Johnson Patterson.
Cole, Dad picked that name.  Named after Cole Trickle from the movie, "Days of Thunder". And the middle name, Maddox, was very random.  I typed the name Cole into the Parents website name-finder, and it was picking middle names that went well with it.  When it came up with Maddox, I looked up the meaning, "a child of God, a fortunate person", and then called TJ and said the name Cole Maddox to him, and he loved it.  It was decided right then.

Since we did not find out the gender of the baby with either pregnancy (well, Dad found out with Cole), we went to the hospital with a girl name, too.  Had either of you been a girl, the name would have been Ava Harper (my maiden name) Annabel (Dad's grandma) Patterson.
These names are very special to us-it is kind of a big deal choosing a name someone will have to live with for their entire life. I hope we did OK by the two of you.
