Yesterday was Jackson's first day of kindergarten. All was going smoothly until it came time to catch the bus (which he insisted on riding the very first day-apparently he is too cool to have Mom take him). It is pouring down rain, and we see the bus coming down the street, so Jackson runs to the bottom of the driveway, and the bus just drives right on by. So, Plan B, we hop into the car and chase it to the next neighborhood, and catch it there. Swell!
I gane the bus time to get to school, then went and saw Jackson and took some pictures of him in his classroom. He was acclimated already, and waved goodbye like the outgoing little man he is. No hugs for me! I guess better that than him screaming and clinging to my leg for dear life. He also decided to ride the bus home, so when he got here, I asked him how his day was. "Good" ....Yeah, that's right. The first day of kindergarten, and all I get in explanation is a good. No elaboration. I think they should videotape the entire first day, so I (and other parents like me) would have something to write in the baby book, blog, etc...
On another note, Cole got another tooth. His bottom right cuspid. It made him very fussy yesterday. I am glad it is through.
Today, we were playing outside, and I asked him if he wanted to put gas in his little red car. He opened the gas tank, then went over to the yard, pulled some "grass", and put it in. Apparently, he thinks it is a grass tank.
TJ and Cole were playing this morning, and they were racing. TJ must have said "Ready, Set, Go!" about 100 times. Well, finally, Cole started saying "Go!". Now, if he would just start using all these one-time (or one day) words more regularly, I could stop worrying about his speech. Little Monster.
I was at Wal-Mart the other day, and I found the cutest little Missouri Tigers fleece sleeper, but with a hood. I got one for Cole, but then I thought "this would be perfect for ball games", so I got one for Benson. And, it was so darn cute, I could hardly stand it, so I got one for Lincoln, too. I am hoping Cole can wear his for Halloween. They are adorable.
For Jackson:
Remember today, for it is the beginning of always. Today marks the start of a brave new future filled with all your dreams can hold. Think truly to the future and make those dreams come true.
