School Days!

Well, this is Jackson's second week of kindergarten, and I thought he was getting the hang of things.  The bus seemed to be going well, he likes his teacher, and is enjoying being with his classmates.  He even ate his first school lunch today. Hot Ham and Cheese. SO...., TJ and I were waiting for the bus yesterday afternoon, and when it pulled up, Jackson did not get off. I waited...., and waited...., and finally asked the driver if he was on there.  The driver says "No".  Then, a little girl sticks her head out the window and says, "Did he have on a brown shirt today?"  Which he did, and so I answered yes.  She says, "He got off at the last stop".  Yes that's right!  My kindergartner decided he wanted to go to a friend's house and just happened to forget to consult Mom first.  Thankfully, they live just up the hill, and by the time I figured out where he got off, they were walking him home.  Obviously, he got a bit of a talking-to.  But, I was just so relieved to know where he was, I could not be very mad.  I am also not surprised at all, he is such an independent kid who thinks there is no such thing as a stranger.  Kinda scary!  I think this will turn out to be a fabulous character trait, but for now, I want to lock him in the closet until he turns 18.

I would probably have to put Cole in there with him, because he misses him like crazy when he is away at school.  But he loves to sit outside with him in the morning to wait for the bus, and go out in the afternoon to wait for him to get home.
